    Those hazel eyes, the windows of her soul, flecks of gold with the deepest of green. She tells you in an instant what she is feeling. Happy, sad, angry or filled with joy. You can feel what is in her heart with a glance. 
    This gestural painting inspired by Joan Mitchell is among the many of this style imagined and created by this contemporary artist. Darlene uses brushes or her hands to move the paint in what might appear to be haphazard but is by no means that way. Her eye controls the placement of the acrylics along with them (in this piece) 18 Karat gold leaf and the darkest of dark black oil pastel lines. 
    Fall being this artist's favourite season is definitely apparent here with the rich combination of hues.
