My Story
I didn’t begin this journey as a professional artist. Like many, I followed a more traditional path at first—one that felt expected, practical, and safe. But creativity was always there, quietly waiting. It wasn’t until later in life, after navigating personal change and new beginnings, that I permitted myself to fully step into what had always been within me. At 55, I chose art—not as a hobby, but as a calling. What began as an intuitive return to creativity quickly became something far deeper. Painting became my language. My way of processing, expressing, and connecting. Each canvas opened a door into imagination, emotion, and movement—something I now trust completely. Today, I create large-scale, one-of-a-kind abstract works that are entirely original. I do not produce prints. Every piece you see is the only one of its kind—just as no two moments, no two emotions, and no two people are ever the same.
My work is inspired by the world around me in subtle, often unexpected ways—the shifting sky, the rhythm of the lake, the quiet beauty of a trail, or even a fleeting glimpse of colour in passing. These impressions stay with me and find their way onto the canvas through gestural brushwork, layered textures, and intuitive colour mixing. There is a physicality to my process. Climbing ladders, moving across large canvases, working with energy and instinct—it’s immersive, almost like stepping into another world. Time disappears. It feels like a journey every time. I’ve been fortunate to connect with collectors both locally and internationally, as well as designers seeking statement pieces that transform a space. For me, art is not just something you hang—it completes a room, like the final layer that brings everything into balance. I believe it doesn’t matter when you discover your passion. What matters is that you honour it. This is mine.
And I’m still evolving with every piece I create.
